The Basics of Writing
Essays, Poetry, and Letter Writing.
This course introduces students to the basics of writing. We will focus on the 5-paragraph essay format as we approach the Expository, Narrative, Descriptive, and Persuasive forms. From there, we will study the short story. Then, we move on to poetry (Lyric, Haiku, and Praise). Finally, we take on letter writing.
